SOOO, I went to National Portfolio Day today with my friend. (JordanDeal, check him out. [link] ) I didn't bring my portfolio but he did and something kept being mentioned in the critiques. ARTISTIC STYLE! Colleges seemed to stress this and it really made me think about my work. What style do I have? The more I think about it, the more I realize that I don't know what it is. What makes my art different than everyone else's? Nothing. I mean,  most of my work is based from photographs and based around technical skill. So, the point of this journal is I want to learn what my style is and incorporate it into more of my artwork. I want people to be about to look at a piece of artwork and say, "That's a Selean" or "Hmmm, Selean must have done that." I want my work to stand out from everyone else's. And when I apply to college, I want them to say, "Wow, that's different from what we've been getting. This person has something to offer to this school!" So...yeah. Wish me luck !

People have constantly been asking me to draw them and they've been put to the back of my mind. Now, I have finally decided that it's time to start drawing more of my friends and family, so I am taking a break on celebrities. To make up for that, I will try to make these portraits look as beautiful as possible (well, that I can possibly do). I mean, they are friends and family. SO let me start cuz, I have an awfully long way to goooo... (< Wicked reference) !
